The following NURBS patch was created with K-3D's new 0.5 geometric data structures, and rendered using Aqsis.

Some points of interest for NURBS fans:

  • The patch is linear in u and cubic in v.
  • The patch is non-uniform - the knot vector was adjusted to create the "crease" midway along v.
  • The patch is rational - although the control points are identical along u, two of the control points in the "front" of the patch have greater-than-unity weights, causing the the patch to approximate the position of the control points more closely in front than in back.

Although we now have complete support for NURBS in our data structures, we are lacking any serious tools for creating / manipulating NURBS, contributions welcome ...
